Sir
Did the fathers of our country create a democracy or a republic? -REPUBLIC: In a republican form of government, the power rests in a written constitution, wherein the powers of government are limited so that the people retain the maximum amout of power (empowerment) themselves. In addition, care is also taken to limit the power of the people to restrict the rights of both the majority and the minority. -DEMOCRACY: An oligarchy (rule by a few men) where in truth a minority rules. A SOCIALIST concept of government by the masses, where authority is derived through direct expression, which negates property rights through taxation without limitation, where the will of the majority regulates, whether based upon deliberation or governed by passion, prejudice or impulse, without restraint or regard to consequence. Results in demagogism, license, agitation, discontent and ultimately anarchy (rule by no one when the system collapses). A transitional expression between shifts in type of government, but not meant to be a permanent expression of government as a reflection of the population. Ultimately leads to tyranny and dictatorship when the oligarchy (rule by a few men) impose total control over the population. -WHICH is it now? Written by : Dave Hoelcher

Our system of government was never intended to be a democracy. Although many believe that we live in one, they have never been asked to vote on the decisions made by said government. Yet they believe that they are empowered just the same. We are not.
