Holistic health is a concept in medical practice upholding that all aspects of people's needs, psychological, physical and social, should be taken into account and seen as a whole. As defined above, the holistic view on treatment is widely accepted in medicine. Disease is a result of physical, emotional, spiritual, social and environmental imbalance. This concept of holistic medicine is thousands of years. The concept of holistic health is that one part interacts and affects the whole. If one part is dysfunctional, so the whole will eventually become dysfunctional because one part is never isolated. The key is to bring harmony to the various interacting parts of the the whole. Ayurveda and Chinese medicine along with different shamanic traditions have followed the holistic modality. There conception of health and spirituality is more advanced than our current medical system which follows Newtonian- reductionism: parts are separated and act independently of the whole. Since the universe is fractal with room for infinite growth and evolution, there is no limit to our health and well being. Taking a harmonious view of our systems of our body, mind, and spirit is the correct one.
