Please note: "english" in the title refers to the language, not the nation.
"When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses."
- John F Kennedy
Much attention has been focused recently on the issues of political corruption, constitutional reform, and great conspiracies by shadowy forces for "A New World Order". It is no exaggeration to say that we are on the brink of the end of civilization as we have known it in our lifetimes, a great unwinding of that Peace of Westphalia upon which the modern system of sovereign nation states rests. This is no conspiracy theory, it is incontrovertible fact, since the implementation of the Lisbon treaty spells the death knell of the nations of Europe and thus heralds a new dark age, a world plunged into medieval superstition, scientific and cultural stagnation, religious persecution and willful Malthusian genocide.
Dark days indeed lie ahead for us, the "golden generation", if we do not reverse this rapid and calamitous decline into global insanity.
Thus, we stand transfixed, in the midst of the greatest economic, political, social and economic crisis in known history. Of that there is no longer any doubt to even the most intransigent of perennially blinkered naysayers. Our Parliament has been thoroughly exposed as rotten to the core, and despite mounting public anger, clearly having no inclination whatsoever of responding in good faith by relinquishing the reins of power and allowing the people of this country a say in how and by who these issues are to going be resolved. Rather, we hear talk of the summer recess being cancelled and a special "constitutional convention" being called to "reform the political system".
Verily, such dirty, underhanded and conspiratorial politics reminds one of the saying, "When men are pure, laws are useless; when men are corrupt, laws are broken."
And so, what is to be our "solution" to the existential crisis that confronts us, a crisis in which the continued existance of humanity itself is being put into considerable doubt with each passing week. Some say "become a Freeman on the land and assert your natural right of resistance", others "Lawful Rebellion!". No doubt, these are worthy and brave causes to which many are being driven by the diabolical despotism of our age. But what lies on the other side of this great rebellion, if Jacobin rage and turmoil is to be the social principle that unites our cause? Is the answer to bad government "no government", as the libertarians amongst us propose? In withdrawing our consent to be governed in sufficient numbers, do we not create the de facto preconditions of our own demise, as the depraved socialist New World Order steps into the gap created by our political and institutional disarray, to impose total and utter tyranny on the people of Great Britain for the first time since the Norman invasion? Surely, at this time of unprecedented global crisis, the last thing we need is to enrage the country into a state of complete ungovernability?
Well, Henry St John, Lord Bolingbroke once advised us to "Wrest the power of government, if you can, out of the hands that employed it weakly and wickedly". I shall have a lot more to say about Henry St John and his political theories in due course, but in the meantime, in keeping with such sentiments, readers of the UK Column print edition will no doubt have seen our Call for National Economic Recovery, an uncompromising shot across the bows of the political establishment, including a demand for an immediate general election to be called. Events have now caught up with our demands, and the race is on to make the necessary reforms before the onrushing general breakdown crisis overwhelms us all and an unstoppable orgy of death and destruction begins to gather pace.
But first, we must summon within ourselves the emotional, spiritual and mental fortitude to confront and outflank the machinations of the financial oligarchy who are transparently orchestrating events with the systematic and deliberate intent to crash civilization before we can wrest control of the levers of power from them and their lackeys in government, and put their system into bankruptcy re-organization by a concert of sovereign governments.
To this end, we hereby publish a great challenge to our readers, and to future auditors of these, perhaps soon to be darkest ever days in the chequered history of these Islands. The challenge is framed by means of the response we received to our call for national economic recovery, from the great American economist and statesman, Lyndon LaRouche Jnr, the man who foresaw and predicted the events we are now living through over 30 years ago.
It is now the duty of every person of good conscience who loves this country to stand up and rally behind solutions, as they will be presented by the team at the UK Column and The British Constitution Group over the coming weeks and months. It is not sufficient to hate, attack and destroy our enemies, we must instead respond with love, generosity and kindness, tempered with a total and unshakable commitment to a better future that we can and must re-create out of the broken debris of our nation.
Only by reaching back and summoning forth the spirit of our greatest artistic, intellectual, scientific, political and moral leaders, can we find the inspiration to stand and fight the hatred, division, violence and malevolence that is the overt design of the oligarchy in these days of fear, uncertainty and strife.
Only by a total dedication to the highest cultural, philosophical and spiritual values of the greatest minds in the history of our nation, and globally extended European civilization, can we reverse the decline of our people into a permanent viscious cycle of socially engineered savagery and ignorance.
Nothing less than an English Renaissance, in the tradition of Shakespeare and Shelley, will revive this country and the wider world, from the black pit of despair into which we have sunk.
